Highly recomend Barnsley Animal Trust. The post aftercare my dog received after a TPLO operation was 100% excellent. He has since visited the Trust with other issues ( unrelated ) to this surgery. I have nothing but praise for all the staff that are at the practice. This is a lovely place, a hard working team. Regards Jayne & Cooper.

We are are regular customers at the Dewsbury branch, but when our dog became ill overnight we took her down to the 24hr hospital at Barnsley at 2.00am on a Sunday morning. From the first phone call when we were given a prompt appointment, to discharge a couple of days later, all the staff were wonderful. As Poppy had been admitted due to the severity of her condition, we were kept regularly updated at every stage of her treatment, and we're advised to call at anytime should we feel the need to.( Which we did on a couple of occasions) The staff were lovely and kind and as well as bringing Poppy back to health, they were also so reassuring with us too as it is very worrying and stressful when your pet is unwell. When these things happen, although it's never a factor as most people will do anything for their pet, Money is always at the very back of your mind. This is where Animal Trust Vets score another 5 stars!!! Their out of hours consultation fee is less than one third of our closest vets practice, and overall charges are similarity reasonable. Poppy is getting back to her old self, and we are overwhelmingly appreciative of all the Barnsley staff for their help, care and understanding.

This is the absolute best Vet Surgery I have ever been to and I cannot express that enough. Well organised, large spacious very clean environment with all around hard working and pleasant staff members. Thank you, Animal Trust for giving my pet a longer happier life.

My Boyfriend and I has had to take our cat to animal trust ( Barnsley and Dewsbury) multiple times- mainly Barnsley. We're very grateful to the staff who have treated our beloved cat with great care. All staff from reception to surgeons very friendly and professional. This is the main hospital for Yorkshire and they can get busy with emergencies. We have had to wait slightly longer at times but the staff have to prioritise their patients which is completely warranted and we understand. All we can say is thank you so far, although treatment is ongoing. What we will say is to clients or potential clients reading this is give the staff some credit. They're all trying to save your pet and sadly this is not always possible. They have to deal with trauma, euthanasia and the owners and then somehow deal with the next patient then go home- no doubt with the days events. We're not an advocate for animal trust or veterinary staff- infact quite the opposite with our last veterinary surgery in Huddersfield, but thankfully we found this place and we're ever so grateful. The cat will need further surgery and this place offer the surgery 1/3 times cheaper than other vets. We had to attend on Wednesday the 15th and once home we tuned into itv news at ten and a report was on about more regulations on veterinary practices and one suggestion what is to be implemented across the UK is that all practices need to show pricing. Guess what - animal trust already do this. Prices are clearly shown on their main website. Unfortunately I am not insured so paying cash and to take out insurance now would be void for existing conditions but I would say take insurance out where you can or try and save for emergencies. I understand its easier said than done in these tough times with everything going up above inflation but just offering words of wisdom. Life can change instantly . Anyway we hope other customers and patients have a caring experience like we did, Thank you C + S and of course GEORGE. Huddersfield. Reason for visit. Urinary blockage. Treatment: cathetar draining- followed by cystotamy surgery then Treatment for cystitis. Discussed in depth other preventative treatments like PU surgery due to reoccurring issue and discussed ongoing dietary changes etc. We just wished animal trust was in Huddersfield but it is what it is worth the trip in terms of care and of course financially. The staff deserve a medal, Thanks again. Ps: Free consultations in working hours. Emergency consult fee £ 79.00 or somewhere near. Vets seen on 15.10.25 Sarah- She is very good. Prior- surgeon Andrew also good. Other vets equally as good. Overall great staff all round as previously mentioned.

Want to say a huge thankyou to everyone who was involved with Autumns care. Unfortunately we did end up losing her. Liz, the feline lady, we out of her way and made time to explain treatments etc to me whilest out girl was there. Ben, reception, he is ever so kind and was ever so helpful. The vet nurse, who's name I didn't get, who was with us at the end was very sympathetic and handled my little girl gentle. Thankyou for your kindness and love ❤️ I have attached some picture of our little girl before she became poorly.
