Very annoyed that my pet has been wrongly diagnosed to begin with cost me as much in tablets for a week as I got 3 weeks on prescription off the Internet. Just not happy with the service.

Just editing the previous review I gave pet vet Barnsley. I have brought my dog here for the past 4 years. We’ve seen Louise, Ana and Martina. All lovely and the reception staff and nurses are lovely too. But the vet that he was booked in with today, I’m afraid I have nothing positive to say about the visit. He had a hot spot and was booked in for a review appointment after a week of steroid ointment. The vet, (didn’t catch her name)seeing he was a bit giddy (he’s a Labrador and he’s harmless) would not come anywhere near him. She was stood a mile away and said he needs antibiotics. I Tried to tell her the wound is dry. She just saw him in reception. Didn’t even take him into the surgery. What kind of service do you call this.? I’m a healthcare professional myself and I don’t prescribe antibiotics to my patients from a mile away without any clinical justification to do so. We refused the antibiotics. Was charged £40 for the pleasure when she couldn’t even be bothered to have a proper look. If she can’t handle a giddy or excitable dog may be she needs to rethink her profession. She looked worried her scrubs might get dirty if she touches him. He’s well groomed FYI Have booked him back in with Martina.
